Artist Statement

I like to work in a painterly and intuitive style. Spontaneity is used as a starting point and continually shows up in my mark making.  My work reflects an energy that translates among various mediums and subjects- but beauty, movement, and the path of light and color are my forever muse. My hope for my viewers is that they get lost in the lively and engaging scenery that my paintings offer.

"I was showing your work and explaining how hard it is to be original, really original, and how unusual it is that the work is so authentic, flowing from your inner being."  -Daniel Chard, Rowan University Painting Professor

"This painting captures the gift of artistic infinity. When you stand in front of this piece, you can get carried away with all the possibilities of where, what, why, how & when this was captured- what could be. Everyone needs that moment." -Kristine Go, Owner of MK Apothecary Gallery

"Dear Nicole, I find these paintings moving, alive, breathing. 1 through 4: Stirring, Grunting, Clashing, Stampeding. 5 through 8: Resting, Rising, Dividing, Subsiding." -Anonymous Gallery Guest

"The value of art is to take us to a state where we're suddenly completely engaged--where we're without a sense of future or past."

"Paintings have to be painted fast- it's called the act of painting for a reason." -Vincent Van Gogh

"Paintings are an artist's unencumbered response to the world. It connects observation with connection, and vision to inspiration. The artist's ability to communicate the most humble means of expression to communicate a compelling idea or emotion distinguishes great works from the ordinary."
